VRANDUK, 2006, 2007, 2008

Vranduk, Annual International Art colony, fall each year since 2006, Art colony house belloninging to Vranduk midlle age fortress, Vranduk, Bosnia&Herzegovina.

Each year since 2006, VD in cooperation with DE_ART art association leaded by Muhamed Begic, initiator and leader of this project, organizing Art colony in 10 days duration and finishing it with exhibition in Zenica city museum. Main goal of this project is not just to gather artist everywhere form the World, but also to make more dynamic life in village which is surrounding Bosnian middle age fortress Vranduk.

We doing that by engaging local people to make natural and domestic food for us, to cooperate with colony in all possible ways, by helping or doing some other useful things for us and for them. By doing so, we want to encourage possible ways of developing and better organizing theirs small economy and business. This people are experienced in making souvenirs and other things which tourists could by and bring with them, and they just need to include other potentials that they have beside tourism.

Other goal of Vranduk art colony is to initiate, collect and to make permanent collection of artworks which we want to left as our legacy to Zenica city museum, and to enrich museum’s current collection and museum’s fond of art depot.

Experience of 3 passed years showing that we made a lot of success and movement in local means and collection raised level of 50 artworks, some of them very valuable, and we believe that other works from this collection will become one day priceless and valuable in great measure. When we look at development and success of some artists contributor to this, which already got international recognition and market success, by possessing this collection ,we could clearly see possibility that Zenica city could find, for example, money, by selling some of works while in need for funds necessary for development and other capital projects of this city.
